Public Sector Marketing Pros Dublin Digital Marketing Summit

The Public Sector Digital Marketing Summit, the first dedicated digital marketing gathering for public sector professionals in Ireland, took place in the Mansion House Dublin on Thursday, 14th June.

The summit looked at how the public sector across Ireland is undergoing a digital transformation, with in-house marketing and communication staff embracing social media and digital communications.

There was a great range of speakers, from digital organisations like Google and public sector bodies such as Dublin Fire Brigade to journalists and broadcasters. High points included Chris Adamczyk of the Mesa Law Enforcement Agency talking about crisis management using social media, Dr Aileen McGloin’s account of how SafeFood developed a Chefbot which used AI to talk consumers through the best way to cook their Christmas turkey and Paul O’Kane’s presentation on how he developed Dublin Airport’s Twitter account into a powerful communication channel.

Our own Vicky Newman also did a short presentation on the practical challenges of creating engaging visual content for a no-cost Twitter campaign celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.

The event was a sell out and its organiser, Joanne Sweeney-Burke, is keen to repeat the summit soon, so watch this space!
